The Finance and Accounting Associate role is to provide accurate and timely financial information that will help the Finance & Accounting team prepare relevant reports required by the Management and those necessary for compliance.
What you will be doing:
- Preparation of accounting entries, except for petty cash replenishments
- Preparation of account schedules and reconciliation for Profit & Loss and Balance Sheet accounts
- Prepare bank reconciliation as per prescribed deadlines
- Validate transactions in expense liquidation and reimbursement reports and ensure that receipts/ invoices and supporting documents are complete
- Monitor cash advances and liquidations
- Assist in the preparation of tax return schedules and/or attachments
- Support in the administration of interim and annual financial statements audit as well as periodic internal audit
- Organize and maintain digital and physical records of accounting
- Act as petty cash custodian in Finance
- Liaise with suppliers/service providers or consultants on any concerns regarding their billings/invoices, official receipts, etc.
- Support the rest of the organization on finance and accounting matters
- Perform other duties as may be assigned by the Immediate Head
What we are looking for:
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or any relevant business-related course; CPA is a plus but not required
- At least 1 year of relevant experience in bookkeeping and accounting principles, good understanding of tax laws and regulations in the Philippines, experience in tax filing
- Proficiency with MS Office specifically excel, G Suite applications, and any accounting software
- Strong attention to detail and can perform with high level of accuracy
- Time management skills, ability to prioritize tasks, and can meet deadlines
- Ability to handle sensitive or confidential information
- Collaborative skills especially on process improvements
- Transparency and proactiveness to solve matters or problems
- Ability to follow through on tasks
- Excellent organization skills
Nice to have:
- Accounting experience with a financing company or within the same industry
- Experience in filing tax returns through Electronic Filing and Payment System (EFPS)
- Trainings on recent tax issuances and compliance regulations issued by the BIR, SEC, BSP
